Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your full name, email address, and a securely hashed version of your password. If you choose to sign up via Google OAuth, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from your Google account. We do not store your Google password.

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with our platform, including URLs submitted for indexing, submission timestamps, indexing results (success, failure, or refund status), credit purchase and usage history, pages visited within our dashboard, and device type, browser type, and IP address.

Payment Information

When you purchase credits, payment processing is handled entirely by our third-party payment processor. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full bank account details on our servers. We only retain a transaction reference ID and the amount for your billing history.

Service Delivery

We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve our URL indexing service. This includes processing your submitted URLs, tracking indexing status, managing your credit balance, issuing automatic refunds for failed indexing attempts, and sending transactional emails such as account verification and indexing status updates.

Communication

We may use your email address to send you important service announcements, security alerts, and, with your consent, occasional product updates or promotions. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time through your account settings or by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email.

Analytics & Improvement

We use aggregated, anonymised usage data to understand how users interact with our platform, identify performance bottlenecks, improve our indexing success rates, and develop new features. This data cannot be traced back to any individual user.

Essential Cookies

We use essential cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of our platform. These include session authentication cookies that keep you logged in, security tokens that protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF), and preference cookies that remember your language and display settings.

Analytics Cookies

We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns. We do not use invasive third-party tracking pixels or sell your browsing data to advertisers. Our analytics focus on page load performance, general navigation patterns, and feature adoption rates — all processed in aggregate form.

Service Providers

We share limited information with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate our platform. These include Supabase for secure database hosting and authentication, payment processors for handling credit purchases, email delivery services for transactional emails, and cloud infrastructure providers for application hosting. Each provider is contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the specific service they provide to us.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request. We may also disclose information to protect the rights, property, or safety of PreIndex, our users, or the public.

No Selling of Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Your data is yours — we simply help you index your links.

Protection Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL, secure password hashing using modern cryptographic algorithms, regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, role-based access controls limiting internal data access, and automated threat detection and monitoring systems.

Breach Notification

In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you via email within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, in accordance with applicable data protection regulations.

Access & Portability

You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. You may also request that we export your data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.

Correction & Deletion

You can update your account information directly through your dashboard settings at any time. You may also request that we delete your account and all associated personal data by contacting our support team. Upon deletion, we will remove your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Consent Withdrawal

Where we process your data based on consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. This will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Active Accounts

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active and as needed to provide you with our services. Your URL submission history, credit transaction records, and account information are maintained to ensure continuity of service.

Deleted Accounts

When you request account deletion, we remove your personal data within 30 days. However, we may retain certain anonymised, aggregated data that does not identify you for analytical purposes. Transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by tax and financial regulations.

PreIndex is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will take immediate steps to delete it. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through a prominent notice on our platform at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of PreIndex after the effective date of any updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
